Alabama-Tennessee softball weather updates: Knoxville Super Regional delayed by rain

Game 3 of the Knoxville Super Regional between Alabama softball and rival Tennessee has entered a weather delay.

The Crimson Tide built up a 4-0 lead on Riley Valentine’s grand slam in the top of the first inning. However, before Alabama could take the field on defense, the tarp was brought onto the field, and the game entered a weather delay.

No. 3 overall seed Tennessee took Game 1 of the series on Friday to open the Knoxville Super Regional round. Alabama bounced back with a 14-inning win on Saturday — among the longest in NCAA softball tournament history — to force Sunday’s winner-take-all game.
