‘Add life to your years’: Experts explain VO2 max and the power of cardiorespiratory fitness | Life

On Wednesday this week, Discovery Vitality hosted experts and health professionals in Sandton to discuss cardiorespiratory fitness and how it correlates with a person’s VO2 max.

They also announced the launch of their latest fitness platform, Vitality Fitness.VO2 max, simplified, is the maximum volume (V) of oxygen (O2) your body can process and is usually how cardiorespiratory fitness levels are measured.

Your VO2 max can be calculated in a lab or using fitness devices. There are also Google resources available for those who cannot afford to visit fitness labs or fitness devices.
