Actor Danny Trejo involved in fight over thrown water balloon during Fourth of July parade
LOS ANGELES (WKRC) – Actor Danny Trejo was involved in a fight during a Fourth of July parade.
According to KABC-TV, “Machete” star Danny Trejo was involved in an altercation that broke out during a Fourth of July parade. Per the outlet, the incident occurred at the Sunland-Tujunga Independence Day Parade near Los Angeles.
Per the station, it began when an unidentified individual reportedly threw a water balloon at the vintage convertible Trejo was riding in.
Video posted to social media shows the 80-year-old confronting the man, who he presumably believed threw the balloon. Footage shows Trejo throwing a punch, per KABC, which reported that the other man swung back at the actor, but missed.
A scuffle followed and Trejo fell to the ground, per KABC, which said Trejo appeared to grab a foldable chair and throw it. Near the end of the video, Trejo is seen arguing with a woman, who appears to be holding him back.
A witness told the station’s reporters that the heated encounter allegedly last about ten minutes before authorities arrived on the scene.
“This parade is like a thing where you throw water balloons back and forth at each other,” witness Stanley Herrarte told KABC. “The reason why Danny was so infuriated was because usually people don’t throw water balloons at fancy cars when they come by.”
According to The New York Post, no one was arrested in connection with the brawl. Trejo was uninjured in the altercation, per The Post.
