AAA: Fourth of July travel expected to be busiest in years
The Fourth of July weekend is right around the corner, and AAA is advising travelers to stay cautious and prepared.
Representatives say throughout the next week, roads and airports are going to be filled to the brim with travelers.
“This is our biggest travel year ever. 70.9 million people will be travelling this next week,” said AAA Senior Travel Advisor, Tracey Miller. “It is going to be crazier than any other time.”
She also explained that for flyers it’s important to plan ahead.
A few tips Miller gave was to pack your most important things in your carry on, just in case your luggage gets delayed, and to arrive two hours ahead of time to get through TSA.
As for those hitting the road, she advises drivers to make sure the car is ready.
“We really advise that you have a mechanic check over your fluids in your car to make sure it’s running good,” she said. “Make sure you have the gas filled up, and make sure you have some food and water and just normal essentials in the car just in case you break down.”
Tracey Miller said more people are wanting to travel, and that AAA is beating it’s own records.
“We are better than ever. 2019 was our best travel year ever, and we have surpassed it,” Miller explained. “It’s a great time for travel.”
