Chinese Nationals Operating Illegal Online Gambling Site and Accused Kidnapper Arrested by Immigration at Their Residences | Taguig News

Two Chinese nationals have been arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in connection with various crimes.

Deportation proceedings are currently being arranged for Zhu Tingyun, 43, and Wang Yun, 30, who are now detained at the BI Detention Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.

The two were arrested on June 19, 2024, in separate operations carried out by the BI Fugitive Search Unit in Parañaque and Pasay.

Zhu was arrested at his residence in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque, under a warrant of arrest issued by the Public Security Bureau in Cangwu County, Guangxi, China. Zhu is allegedly the operator of a syndicate running an online gambling site since 2016. His site has reportedly amassed 30 billion Chinese yuan or approximately US$4.1 billion.

On the other hand, Wang has an arrest warrant issued by the Public Security Bureau in Jinjiang City in connection with a kidnapping case. He was arrested at Metrobank Avenue, Pasay City.

The two fugitives from Chinese law are also overstaying in the Philippines, having hidden in the country for several years. China has also invalidated their passports.
