Nintendo says some of the original Mario & Luigi devs are working on Brothership

Mario Luigi original developers

Nintendo won’t say who’s developing Mario & Luigi: Brothership, but the company has offered up a sliver of information.

As relayed by Game File, the Big N says that “some of the original developers who worked on the franchise are involved in the development”. Nintendo noted that further information will be included in the credits at release.

We’re back to the same song and dance with Nintendo that we’ve often seen as of late. With many projects, the company isn’t keen on coming forward with details about the teams working on its games. Donkey Kong Country Returns HD was also announced this week, and we later found out that Forever Entertainment is handling it after the company posted an official document online.

For Mario & Luigi: Brothership in particular, many fans are wondering who’s behind the game. It’s an especially noteworthy title given how AlphaDream closed a few years ago following bankruptcy. Previously, AlphaDream handled all other entries in the series. The last original entry in the franchise came out close to a decade ago.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership launches for Switch on November 7, 2024. You can check out more information and the first trailer here.
