Tomorrow x Together and Maluma Make Dior’s Front Row
Kim Jones’ cat- and dog-themed Dior show was not an homage to brand ambassadors’ Tomorrow x Together’s 2019 song “Cat & Dog,” but was inspired by the conceptual works of South African artist Hylton Nel.
Giant cats and dogs filled the tent on the grounds of Paris’ Val de Grâce, and three of the four attending members of Tomorrow x Together said they prefer cats, except Choi Soobin, who expressed a preference for dogs.
As to what they appreciate about Jones’ designs, Heuning Kai added that it would be “iconic looks.” They posed for pics with Maluma, who added that he is a dog person.
“I’m a dog person, man, I have 10 dogs,” he said.
Girls5Eva actor Thomas Doherty shared that he is “very much a dog person.”
“There’s the saying that if you give a dog food, he will think you are a god, and if you give a cat food, it will think it is god, and I think that is true,” he joked.
The Scottish actor revealed that he has just added a new puppy to his family named Rosie, and he is so devoted he’s had her name tattooed behind his ear. He proudly showed it off.
“She’s absolutely off her head,” he said. “I can take her for a three-hour hike, then she naps for five minutes, then she is up and running around again.” He also admitted that he has given in and she sleeps on the bed and is a good cuddle companion.
“Everything is lovely and beautiful at the same time,” said Thai actor Mile, who joined the house as an ambassador last year. “For men and women, it’s easy, practical to wear and fashionable at the same time.”
He sang the praises of Jones. “Every collection is very mesmerizing in different ways,” he said, opening his coat to model his knit vest. “As you can see, the color on the knitwear is inspired by the artist. It’s lovely.”
He gamely posed for pics and kindly chatted with other guests, while Cha Eun-woo posed with Bad Bunny.
Robert Pattinson agreed with Mile’s assessment, adding that Jones delivered “excellence, as always.”
Casey Affleck said that he is not a fashion show regular, but his son has an interest in fashion and he’s been learning more about it.
“I have a little bit of a newfound appreciation for what it is. I figure that the fast-fashion world doesn’t have a lot to offer in terms of history [or a] place in culture and art and that Dior is a house that has a great long history and it’s been doing some really beautiful things for a long time, so it’s a good place to start,” he said.
The Oscar winner has a new film coming out in August titled “Instigators” costarring Matt Damon and Jack Harlow. Affleck said it is the “anti-heist heist movie.”
“It’s like what not to do and how things can go wrong,” he said. He takes on his longtime friend and collaborator Damon in the film and revealed that people might see a new side of both him and Harlow.
“I’m a lot funnier than Matt Damon. I think that might be a surprise for some people but definitely true,” he joked. “Jack Harlow is actually great, and that’s a secret. He’s a really, really good actor. Very funny in the movie and a super talented guy, obviously, but not a lot of people knew that he’s such a good actor. So that’s secret, but not for long.”
