Galaxy Z Fold 6 case reveals lack of major cover display size change

If you were still holding on to hope that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will bring a notably larger cover display, a picture showing a case for the phone will disappoint you.

On X (formerly Twitter), US-based case manufacturer Thinborne posted the photo you see below with the #fold6 hashtag, suggesting it’s a case designed for the upcoming foldable.

The photo provides more evidence that Samsung is not making big changes to the size of the cover display. The cover display will be slightly wider because of a different aspect ratio. But the available screen estate will remain virtually the same.

It’s a similar story for the 7.6-inch foldable display. It will have the same size as before but a different aspect ratio that will make it shorter and wider.

In addition to wider displays, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have a more angular look thanks to sharper corners. It could also be around 15 grams lighter and feature a titanium frame.

As for the rest of the package, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be disappointingly familiar. It will feature the usual yearly upgrades, like a newer Snapdragon chip and newer software. But everything from the camera specs to the battery capacity are expected to carry over unchanged.

Samsung is working on a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra that may have better specs than the standard Fold 6. But the Ultra model currently looks to be a Korean exclusive. It might also be prohibitively expensive, as even the standard Fold 6 is expected to have a $100 higher starting price.
