Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn win tag team titles at Clash at the Castle
Coming into today’s (Sat., June 15, 2024) Clash at the Castle premium live event at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, there was little reason to believe there was any chance Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair would lose their tag team titles. Sure, they were booked in a triple threat against The Unholy Union and Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark, with the math not on their side, but this was a rather hastily put together match.
Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn, of course, were here if only because, well, how could they not be? WWE doesn’t come to Scotland often, and they were damn sure going to get a chance to make good back home.
And I’ll be damned if they didn’t pull it off.
They had a strong showing throughout the match but seemed to be out of the running late, with Baszler locking Cargill in a sleeper and Belair having to make the save. The two teamed up with their tandem offense from there, going into their finish.
But at the last second, Dawn rushed in to suplex Cargill across the ring and steal the pinfall while Fyre held the now former titleholders back from making the save.
We have new women’s tag team champions.
