MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Myrtle Beach International Airport is expecting its first heavy Saturday of the summer travel season tomorrow, according to Ryan Betcher, Assistant Director of Airports with the Myrtle Beach International Airport.
Heavy passenger traffic is expected from June through August with Saturdays being the peak travel day every week.
“The airlines have scheduled 13,826 departing seats for Saturday, for which we expect approximately 10,200 departing passengers,” Betcher said.
MYR actively encourages summer travelers departing from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday-Sunday to arrive at least two to three hours before their scheduled departure time to ensure a smooth travel experience.
