As for makeup, Underwood went full glam for the annual occasion.

She rocked a sparkly silver eyeshadow look with dramatic fake lashes and smokey winged eyeliner.

Underwood’s lips were painted a peachy pink and her cheeks were dusted with luminous pink blush.

Warren, 67, wrote several songs on Underwood’s 2005 debut album Some Hearts, including Lessons Learned and Whenever You Remember.

She is being honored with the Johnny Mercer Award, which recognizes excellence in lyric writing and composing, as per the Johnny Mercer Foundation.

Footloose star Kevin Bacon was also on hand for the event in New York City.

The actor, 65, posed on the red carpet with his musician brother Michael Bacon, 74.

Underwood’s appearance at Thursday’s gala comes days after she suffered an on-stage fall following a performance in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Sunday night.

TMZ obtained video of Underwood walking off stage after her headlining set at the Carolina Country Music Fest – before falling as she made her way down steps located near the back of the platform.

‘She fell!’ several fans could be heard observing immediately afterwards.

But Carrie, 41, appears to now be doing fine – she has been posting snaps from her performance on Instagram since that night and even appeared to reference the fall.

‘Well, last night sure was fun! And though the ending was quite unexpected, it made for a night we’ll never forget! Thanks for being awesome, #MrytleBeach !!!’ Carrie, who will soon be performing in Hawaii, captioned a carousel of photos from her show.

Carrie was hit with a downpour of rain during her performance.

But the songstress didn’t let the weather keep her from delivering an unforgettable set.

‘We won’t let a little rain stop us! We won’t let a massive downpour stop us, either,’ she posted on Instagram along with footage of her singing her hit track, Before He Cheats, as rain poured down.

Underwood endured another fall several years ago that resulted in her receiving 40-50 stitches on her face.

‘Plain and simple it was kind of a freak accident,’ Carrie told Hoda Kotb during a 2018 Today interview. ‘I just fell, I just tripped taking my dogs out to do their business. It could have happened to anybody. I say, if I had fallen anywhere else, it wouldn’t have been a problem, but there was just one little step that I went to catch myself on and I missed.’

Back in November 2017, the singer fell down some stairs at her Nashville home. In January 2018, Carrie, who also broke her wrist during the fall, revealed to her fans that she also suffered facial lacerations requiring 40 to 50 stitches.

She did not show her full face for several months, posting instead partial selfies including a photo of her with a thick scarf wrapped around her head.

It wasn’t until her performance at the the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards, which took place in April 2018 in Las Vegas, that Carrie showed her entire face again.

While the star had told her fans that she might look different after the accident, she had only minimal scarring visible when she took to the stage, and appeared as glamorous as ever as she sang in public for the first time since her fall.

However, she told Hoda that there was a time she wasn’t sure she would ever look the same again.

‘In the beginning, I feel like, you know, I didn’t know how things were going to end up,’ Carrie, who has sons Isaiah and Jacob with husband Mike Fisher, said. ‘It just wasn’t pretty.’

When the fall happened, Carrie was by herself, while her son Isaiah was asleep upstairs in their home.

Despite the ordeal, Hoda told the singer she thinks Carrie still looks exactly like herself, to which Carrie replied: ‘Thank you. I have a dedicated team of professionals who can spackle and paint and paste.

She laughed and added: ‘No, thank you. Every day I feel a little more back to normal.’
