Erosion control company to open New Roads manufacturing plant, create 25 jobs

A company that makes erosion control materials said it will spend $8 million to open a manufacturing facility in New Roads, a move that will create 25 jobs.

The Industrial Fabrics production facility will create 32 indirect jobs, Louisiana Economic Development said.

Baton Rouge-based Industrial Fabrics makes fabrics, fencing and paving material which reduces the amount of soil and sediment going into the drainage system. The company’s clients include construction and industrial businesses.

Construction of the facility is underway and the project should be completed in June 2025.

LED offered an incentives package that includes a $180,000 performance-based grant

to reimburse infrastructure and utility costs. Industrial Fabrics is expected to participate in the Industrial Tax Exemption and Quality Jobs programs
