ShopRite introduces smart shopping carts

A Northeast Philadelphia’s ShopRite is rolling out a revolutionary way to shop, with smart technology.

The grocery store located at 9910 Frankford Avenue recently introduced AI powered Caper Carts which allows you to scan items as you put them into the cart.

The smart cart will also be giving you shopping recommendations and allows you to check out directly from the cart. If you choose to use the self-checkout lane, you can scan a barcode on the shopping cart which will make your shopping experience go quicker.

The move is part of the grocery chains’ larger plan to introduce the “smart cart” technology throughout its stores nationwide.

The first of the “smart carts” were rolled out at its’ Spotswood, NJ location in 2022.

Currently ShopRite shoppers at over 270 stores in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland can head to their local store to use this new smart shopping technology.
