Any agenda behind Modi gesture with Chiru?

The unusual bonhomie displayed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with megastar Chiranjeevi and power star Pawan Kalyan on the dais at Kesarapalli near Vijayawada on the occasion of swearing-in ceremony of Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu kicked up an interesting discussion in the political circles.

After the swearing-in ceremony is over, Modi led Pawan Kalyan towards Chiranjeevi and held the hands of both the brothers. He led them to the centre stage and raised their hands. Later, he hugged them with both his hands and patted their backs.

This gesture has led to the impression that Modi is giving a lot of importance to the mega brothers. In fact, it is Pawan Kalyan who is part of the alliance with the BJP and Chiranjeevi has been keeping away from politics.

Yet, it is apparent that Modi is giving a lot of importance to Chiranjeevi. This led to the talk that the Prime Minister may be contemplating bringing the megastar back into the active politics, probably with an eye on conquering Andhra Pradesh with the help of the mega brothers after five years.

According to speculations in some sections of media, Modi might offer Rajya Sabha ticket to Chiranjeevi, if not on behalf of the BJP, but at least under Presidential quota. This would elevate the status of Pawan Kalyan in Andhra politics.

“Having seen his younger brother growing to such a stature in Andhra politics, Chiranjeevi, too, might be tempted to get back into active politics. Who knows, the mega brothers might dominate Andhra politics by 2029 with the support of the BJP, in the event of the YSR Congress party fails to resurrect by then,” these reports said.
