New Orleans construction company to move to Jefferson Parish, create 130 jobs

A New Orleans construction company said it will spend $25 million to move its corporate headquarters to Jefferson Parish and consolidate its manufacturing and training operations there, a move that will create 130 jobs.

RNGD, pronounced renegade, the new name of the builder long known as Palmisano Construction, will expand its prefabrication factory near the Earhart Expressway in the Labarre Business Park. The move will keep more than 240 jobs and create 250 construction jobs at its peak.

The Times-Picayune reported last month RNGD was considering moving its offices from New Orleans to Jefferson Parish and planning an expansion. The company has had a factory in the business park since 2022.

The development is projected to break ground July 1 and be completed by January.

Louisiana Economic Development said it gave RNGD an incentives package that includes a $500,000 performance-based award for facility and utility upgrades. The award is contingent on approval from the Economic Development Award Program.

“This announcement represents a significant economic investment in Jefferson Parish,” said Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission President & CEO Jerry Bologna. “We are proud to retain RNGD in the region and substantially expand their footprint in Jefferson Parish through competitive incentive offerings at both the state and local level.”
