Recapping the biggest storylines from Detroit Lions minicamp

The Detroit Lions wrapped minicamp on Thursday, the final practice of the spring for the veteran players. While the young guys will be back next week (minus one day), this essentially marks the last significant practice before training camp.

Pride of Detroit was on hand for all three days of minicamp, one day of of rookie minicamp, and a pair of regular old OTA practices. And while there may be one more day of media availability next week, we thought this was a good opportunity to recap everything we saw.

So I joined Meko Scott on our YouTube page to discuss the major storylines from spring practices, the biggest standouts, and players who proved they still have a significant ways to go before being ready for the season.

To help guide your viewing experience, here is a timestamped recap of the topics I discussed with Meko.

  • 1:45 — Why the cornerback play was the biggest story out of Lions minicamp
  • 6:00 — Other standouts from the Lions defense
  • 9:00 — Evolving roles for Jack Campbell and Derrick Barnes
  • 11:45 — Discussing the Levi Onwuzurike hype
  • 15:00 — Jack Campbell’s mental growth
  • 19:30 — Why I don’t think Hendon Hooker would be Detroit’s backup quarterback right now
  • 23:00 — Amik Robertson was the best pleasant surprise of camp
  • 29:45 — Is Jameson Williams ready to be WR2?
  • 35:00 — What we’re looking forward to in training camp
