Intel Gaudi 3 AI Accelerators To Cost Around ,000, Half Of NVIDIA’s Blackwell Pricing

Intel has revealed the pricing of their next-gen Gaudi 3 AI accelerators, putting a tag that makes them significantly more competitive against rivals.

Intel’s Gaudi 3 Accelerators Pricing Might Attract AI Industry’s Attention, Particularly Chinese Consumers

Well, Team Blue is still looking for an opportunity to capitalize on the AI hype; as of the big three firms (NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel), Intel has the least market share in the industry. However, the firm is looking to turn the tide very soon.

Recently, during Intel’s keynote, the firm’s CEO Pat Gelsinger gave us an update on the AI developments, including details about their newest Gaudi AI accelerators. Interestingly, the firm has revealed the pricing of its Gaudi 3 AI accelerators for the first time, showing the value they offer.

According to the presentation slides, Intel’s Gaudi 3 AI accelerator kit, which consists of eight different units, will cost around $125,000, bringing down the cost of an individual Gaudi 3 AI accelerator to $15,625, while for the inferior Gaudi 2 AI accelerator, it’s around $8,125.

So, the prices are certainly much less than what competitors like NVIDIA offer since an individual Blackwell B100 AI GPU is expected to cost around $35,000, almost more than double what you will pay for Intel’s top-end accelerator. And with Team Green witnessing tremendous Blackwell demand, the costs will only increase.

One can say that Intel might have an edge over NVIDIA regarding the company’s prices, but it’s important to note that consumers aren’t simply paying for raw power here. NVIDIA’s AI ecosystem, which includes specialized CUDA libraries, Grace CPUs, and many more crucial assets, is one of the main reasons for the firm’s widespread adoption in the markets.

When you look for similar competitors in the markets, there aren’t many. Of course, Intel can still provide a tough battle to NVIDIA through consistent improvements, but things now favor Team Green’s camp here.

Also similar to NVIDIA, Intel is creating a full ecosystem of Gaudi 3 AI accelerators, offering them several options which start at 8 accelerators, and scale up to 512, 4096 and up to 8192 super-clusters with 15 Exaflops of performance, 1 PB capacities and an insane 1.229 PB/s of bandwidth.

The one route we discussed previously where Intel can potentially succeed is in the Chinese market. Intel has recently reiterated its commitment to Chinese markets, claiming that they aren’t out of the equation yet. With the exclusive relationship, Team Blue has with the US government and its “cheap” Gaudi accelerators, Intel can potentially damage NVIDIA’s dominance in China, but for now, that’s just an assumption.
