Sunday schedule change for Birmingham-Southern at College World Series

The Birmingham-Southern baseball team celebrates its super regional victory against Denison University on Saturday, May 25, some while connected to IV drips. The baseball team is playing in the Division III Baseball World Series after its school ceased operations on Friday.

Rain showers in the Cleveland area pushed back Sunday’s set of games at the Division III Baseball World Series.

Birmingham-Southern is scheduled to off against Wisconsin-Whitewater at 4 p.m. CT at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio. The elimination game was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. CT. In the day’s other elimination game, Misericordia was leading top-seeded Endicott 1-0 in the early innings. Birmingham-Southern and Wisconsin-Whitewater play at Classic Park afterwards.

The story of the Birmingham-Southern baseball team has captivated the country. The school officially closed on Friday, but the BSC baseball team played its way into the D-III Baseball World Series. Birmingham-Southern lost its first game of the national championship tournament on Friday against Salve Regina University but then came from behind on Saturday to eliminate Randolph-Macon with a dramatic walk-off home run by BSC slugger Jackson Webster.
