Buc-ee’s to open its largest travel center in Luling, Texas
LULING, Texas — A new Buc-ee’s store is taking the unofficial state slogan of “everything’s bigger in Texas” to the next level.
Buc-ee’s, a Texas staple known for its extremely large convenience stores and gas stations, is opening its largest travel center to date next month right where it all began in Luling, Texas, a small city east of San Antonio along the San Marcos River.
The new Luling store, located at 10070 Interstate 10, will be the largest Buc-ee’s location in the country, with 120 fueling positions and more than 75,000 square feet of storefront.
The store’s grand opening will happen on Monday, June 10, with its doors opening at 6 a.m. and a ribbon-cutting ceremony planned for noon.
For the past few years, Buc-ee’s has been expanding out of Texas, and in June 2023, the chain opened the world’s largest gas station in Sevierville, Tennessee, which will be knocked down to second place behind the Luling location. Buc-ee’s also has travel centers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Missouri and Colorado, and it broke ground on locations in Virginia and Mississippi earlier this year.
With its Beaver Nuggets and the “world’s cleanest bathrooms,” Buc-ee’s has been a Texas icon for decades. Luling is home to the company’s first travel center in 2003, and this new location is replacing the city’s current store.
“We are thrilled to open the doors to the world’s largest Buc-ee’s travel center right here in the Great State of Texas,” said Stan Beard, the director of real estate and development for Buc-ee’s. “It’s particularly exciting, considering this is the Buc-ee’s that started it all, so we are really looking forward to celebrating with the incredible people of Luling.”
