What you’ll do:

The Vocational Instructor prepares in advance, develops and implements daily lesson plans for the purpose of delivering instructional curriculum related to subject area competencies. Delivers daily lesson plans and develops activities following the Career Exploration format for the purpose of developing academic skills and employable technology skills appropriate for career paths.  This position also delivers vocational curriculum that adheres to the clinical teaching format for the purpose of leading to industry recognized certification and develops and implements effective classroom management strategies for the purpose of ensuring a safe and secure learning environment.

The work week is typically Monday — Friday with hours subject to adjustment.

To be considered, you should:

  • Be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect.
  • Have a desire to work with troubled teens and have 5 years of prior industry experience and the sufficient skills and knowledge to deliver a comprehensive vocational training curriculum.
  • Bachelors Degree Preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent with industry experience evaluated on a case by case basis
  • Valid Journeyman Certificate, if applicable.  For Culinary Arts and Food Service, experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
  • Deliver a hands-on approach emphasizing appropriate concepts relevant to vocational skills and career path progress.
