Fitness and Recreation
Greyhounds pair unstoppable tenacity with something bigger than bragging rights.
At Loyola, physical activities—from competitive sports to personal fitness—are intertwined
with education and the drive to become the best version of yourself. It all goes back
to the Jesuit concept of cura personalis: To serve the world to the best of your ability, the body must be cared for with
the same focus and energy as the mind.
That’s why so many members of the Loyola community value wellness and make it a priority
to engage in active lifestyles—on campus and beyond. From our decorated Division I
programs to flag football on Diane Geppi-Aikens (DGA) Field; from yoga on the Quad
to biking the Jones Falls Trail through Baltimore or hiking the miles of wooded trails
that run adjacent to Loyola’s Evergreen campus, there are plenty of ways to maintain
a healthy lifestyle, stretch, move, get some fresh air, take a break from studying,
and meet your wellness goals.
