GUNTHER wins King of the Ring tournament

Talk about a big fight feel.

When Randy Orton and GUNTHER stood across the ring from each other today (Sat., May 25, 2024) inside the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, at the King & Queen of the Ring premium live event they let the moment breathe. The fans created an electric atmosphere for them, the crowd pulsating with anticipation for what genuinely felt like a big money matchup.

GUNTHER defeated Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, and Jey Uso en route to this showdown, while Orton went through AJ Styles, Carmelo Hayes, and Tama Tonga. The winner was promised a title shot at SummerSlam. It had the added intrigue of being an honor the longtime veteran Orton has never experienced in his illustrious career.

He still hasn’t.

GUNTHER managed to survive multiple RKOs, and with Orton nursing a bad knee GUNTHER took advantage by rolling him up after kicking out of the second RKO to score the pinfall and the victory.

A big championship showdown in a couple months awaits.
