Cold Stone Creamery, located at 3727 N. Woodford St., began serving its homemade ice cream this week.
Co-owner Ned Qattoum said the ice cream shop is the first of many planned additions in the works for the strip mall.
“We’re just glad to finally bring it here and please all the customers,” he said.
Cold Stone Creamery’s hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday’s hours will be extended during the summer, but will also open at 11 a.m.

According to the owner, the ice cream and treats are made fresh daily.
“We actually make the ice cream in the back,” Qattoum said. “It doesn’t come prepared.”
The customer has a choice of approximately 12 ice cream flavors before they choose the dry ingredients they want mixed in. The company offers about 18 signature creations, such as Cake Batter, Batter, Batter and One Smart Brookie.
It also has shakes, smoothies, cakes and packaged selections to take home.
The shopping center has had a few updates recently, including outdoor seating and landscaping. “We just wanted to brighten up that area and get everything real nice,” Qattoum said.
One of the first additions to the center was the In & Out store with convenience items. Plans for more businesses include clothing stores and more restaurants.
“Thankfully all of those units are filling up and a lot of new tenants are going to open up soon,” Qattoum said.
