Red hot and fashionable: Alaya F talks about her style and fashion trends

Alaya F’s fashion game is undeniably sharp, aficionados would agree. We talked to the actress about her style and more in an exclusive conversation.

Celebrity outfits and their day–to–day fashion choices are constantly put under the fashion radar like a real-life hot or not poll and actress Alaya F’s stylish fits and impeccable glam make sure she’s the former, one can’t decide otherwise. Red hot off her role in the Rajkumar Rao starring biopic, Srikanth, she tells us how relatability to her on-screen personas comes naturally to her. “There’s always something in all of my characters that I feel deeply connected to, and there is always a little bit of me in all my characters. I feel like it brings out that little extra honesty in a character,” says the actor. “I relate to all my characters in very, very different ways. I like to keep my heart in it, and then use that to make the choices, the character would,” she adds.

Heart is something that Alaya F shows in all aspects of her life, including her obvious passion for working out and more recently, her style. “My power outfit would just be a nice, sleek black dress. It’s comfy, it’s timeless and it’s a little bit sexy and a little bit fun but also just very easy to be in,” the actress says. Though initially not a big fan of it, the actress has also let comfort take priority when it comes to her fashion choices. “A style that I have grown to love is baggy, comfortable clothes. I was not a baggy, comfortable clothes kind of gal. And now I’m a big, big fan of anything baggy and comfy,” she says.

Ranging between sleek LBDs and comfy baggy clothes it should be hard to describe the actress’s fashion aesthetic but she isn’t at a loss for words calling it, “Versatile. Fun, and neutral. Which is all very, very, slightly different words,” she says laughing; and somehow the words fit her style perfectly. While the actress has carved a niche as a fashionista in the fashion world, it wasn’t always that way she tells us, “I think firstly when I started receiving compliments about it, I was surprised because it wasn’t something that I thought about.” Through her bold choices and style risks, the actress has discovered what works best for her. “There came a time where I started taking a bunch of risks and I thought that some of them weren’t working and some of them were working, but then a bunch of people came up to me and told me that my choices are working well.”

Hearing praise for her fashion choices might be something the star is comparatively new to, but being the centre of attention for them isn’t. “I’m one of those irritating people who on their birthday tell everyone to come in black and white, and then I wear pink. that’s something I have done, that’s like a horrible thing actually, such a pick-me-girl thing to do in hindsight but I’ve done that quite a few times,” she tells us laughing; but who can blame one for standing out on their own birthday, especially when they’ve dressed like Alaya F? Boasting quite the wardrobe herself, talking about her dream wardrobe she says, “Emily in Paris, that’s cute, that’s a good wardrobe and it’s fun.” Safe to say that both Emily and Alaya F are ladies who have an impeccably chic sense of fashion down pat.
