Margot Robbie Is Pregnant With Her First Child

Congratulations are in order for Margot Robbie and her husband, Tom Ackerley!

On Sunday, People revealed that the Barbie star is pregnant and expecting her first child with her film producer husband. While neither Robbie nor Ackerley have made an official announcement, it’s been reported that multiple sources have confirmed the happy news. 

Rumors of a pregnancy began to swirl earlier this weekend after Robbie—who wore a cropped white T-shirt, black pants, and a black blazer draped over her shoulders—was photographed boarding a boat during her summer vacation with Ackerley in Lake Como, Italy (see photos here). Her midriff-baring shirt seemingly revealed a baby bump below, but at the time, nothing was confirmed.

Robbie and Ackerley have been married for nearly eight years after tying the knot during a private ceremony in Australia’s Byron Bay in December 2016. They met three years prior while on the set of the World War II drama Suite Française, in which Ackerley was an assistant director and Robbie starred in front of the camera.

Just as much as they are partners in life, Robbie and Ackerley are also business partners. The two co-founded the production company LuckyChap together, along with Robbie’s childhood friend Sophia Kerr, in 2014 and have since gone on to produce a number of successful films—including I, Tonya, Birds of Prey and Barbie.

“It’s seamless,” Ackerley explained to The Sunday Times recently when asked how he and Robbie separate business and pleasure. “We don’t have a toggle on, toggle off. It’s all become one thing,” adding that they spend “24 hours a day” together.
