Houston Airports offer FREE travel waiver for cancelled flights between July 7-9

HOUSTON (KIAH) – Authorities at Houston Airports are currently working to restore their regular operations in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.

On Monday, July 8, the airlines canceled flights at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) a nd William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), however passengers are able to rebook flights scheduled between July 7-9 at no additional cost due to the hurricane and their travel waiver policy.


According to airport authorities, operations are very limited at this tie, which will allow for only a few flights to resume.

The airlines are currently accessing their facilities for repairs from the strong winds, debris and fallen trees around Will Clayton Parkway close to Bush and Airport and Telephone near Hobby.

Although Houston Airports is working the City of Houston Emergency Management Operations to resume operations by 7 p.m. Monday, the challenge will be commuting to and from the airport. Travelers are being advised by Aviation Director Jim Szczesniak and Mayor Whitmire to stay off the roadways while first responders work to clear traffic hazards and repair traffic signals.
