Rising temperatures, travel expected over Fourth of July holiday | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Lakeside lodging fully booked, equipment rentals still available

Jamie Argotsinger (from left) of Rogers, his wife Barb Argotsinger and their son Andrew launch their boat Wednesday at Prairie Creek Park on Beaver Lake. Independence Day and Memorial Day are the two busiest summer holidays at the lake, weather permitting. The lake, with its scenic shorelines, gravel beaches and clear water, is a popular Independence Day destination for out-of-state visitors and locals. The campground and day use area at Prairie Creek remain closed because of storm damage. The boat ramp is open. Go to nwaonline.com/photos for today’s photo gallery.

Northwest Arkansas is experiencing an influx of travelers for the Fourth of July weekend despite storm damage, officials say.

Almost 71 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more over the Fourth of July holiday, according to the American Automobile Association, a 5% increase from 2023.
