More than 4K egg products recalled due to health hazard

OHIO (WJW) – Thousands of liquid egg products have been recalled due to misbranding, undeclared allergens and the potential to cause illness.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, Michael Foods Inc. is recalling about 4,620 pounds of liquid egg products that were distributed in Alabama, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina and Utah.
According to the FSIS, the product being recalled is in a 32-oz. carton that has Fair Meadow Foundations whole eggs with citric acid. The carton shows a use-by date of September 16, 2024 and lot code 4162G.
The liquid egg breakfast blend was produced on June 11, 2024 and contains dairy, which is not declared on the product label.
According to the FSIS, the recall was published after a dairy ingredient was found during a routine carton evaluation.
According to the FSIS, the product might be in restaurants or institutional refrigerators and should be thrown away or returned.
