Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II arrested on DUI charge, open bottles allegedly found in car

Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II was arrested on Sunday for suspicion of DUI and speeding in Cleveland County, Okla., according to multiple reports.

A “half-full bottle of lemonade vodka and a half-full bottle of tequila” were discovered in his vehicle, according to an affidavit of the incident detailed by ABC affiliate KOCO News 5, and troopers stated Gordon was driving 82 mph in a 65 mph zone.

The 20-year-old running back initially told the trooper he had not been drinking, but upon denying a field sobriety test, he claimed he had one beverage, KOCO News 5 reported.

Gordon was arrested on complaints of DUI under 21 years of age, transport of an open container of alcohol, failure to maintain single lane of traffic and speeding.

He posted a blood alcohol sample of 0.11, which is over the legal limit.

A spokesperson for Oklahoma State said the institution is “aware” of the situation, per ESPN.

Gordon led the entire country with a gaudy 1,732 rushing yards last year and had 45 runs of 10 or more yards.

Those numbers helped Gordon win Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors and finish seventh in Heisman voting.

Gordon has been projected to be selected in the early rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft by preliminary scouting reports, ranking among the top running backs in the upcoming class.

The arrest will likely be examined by NFL personnel as part of the pre-draft process.

Powered by Gordon’s unbelievable year, Oklahoma State finished 10-4 during the 2023 season, losing the Big 12 title game to Texas but beating Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl.

Oklahoma State will open the 2024 against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits on Aug. 31.
