5 Most Interesting Revelations From Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Club Shay Shay’ Interview
Megan Thee Stallion is on a full-fledged media blitz promoting her new album, “Megan.” In addition to her recent show-stopping performance at the 2024 BET Awards, she also appears on the new episode of “Club Shay Shay.”
In the hour-long conversation with host Shannon Sharpe, Meg discusses her journey to superstardom, internet trolls, taking control of her career and working with Beyoncé. To save you some time, we’ve gathered the most interesting revelations from Meg’s “Club Shay Shay” interview.
Shannon Apologizes
Before they got into the interview, the NFL Hall of Famer apologized for a joke he made on his “Nightcap” podcast back in November. He said if he ever had a chance with Meg, she’d be “stretched out like a quarter to three.” Shannon was criticized for the remark and apologized on social media, but used this moment to make amends in person.
“For any unwanted attention, harm, shame, embarrassment that I caused you or your family, I wanna say as a man, as I sit here before you, I apologize,” Sharpe said.
She accepted his mea culpa and they moved on to have a fun, drama-free conversation.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Influence
When Megan was having legal issues with her previous label, she looked to Beyoncé and Jay-Z for advice. The superstar power couple told her to go out on her own and be her own boss.
“They told me ‘You need to do this on your own. You already know what it is, you got all the tools. The legal shit that you’re going through right now, I know you’re learning something right? So you should be able to figure out how to get ahead,’” Megan said.
In fact, it was also the “Renaissance” artist who inspired her to create her own tequila.
Is Megan Thee Stallion (feat. Billie Eilish and Finneas) Possible?
Megan has worked with some amazing artists, but she has a surprising dream collab on her list. The “Savage” rapper wants to work with Oscar and Grammy winner Billie Eilish and her producer brother, Finneas. This is a really fascinating idea, as it would give Meg a chance to really blow up everyone’s expectations of what kind of artist she is.
“I really want to work with her. I like her and her brother. I like the dynamic they have. I feel like it’s really cool,” she said. “I like Finneas’ beats, so I definitely would like to work with both of them.”
Are You Ready for Megan Thee TV Show?
She recently wrapped up her documentary, so she’s open to the idea now. The “WAP” rapper is interested in the idea of people getting her “real reaction…versus people making up shit that’s completely untrue.”
Meg Is a Hooper
There’s a basketball hoop at the studio she uses, and she occasionally plays ball when she’s clearing her head before recording. “Sometimes I just go back there and I be just messing around,” she said. “I be thinking I’m really Angel Reese.”
