A team of travel journalists and influencers from the United States is touring Ireland, hosted by Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland, and Tourism NI. Catering to a predominantly LGBTQIA+ audience with millions of followers, these media professionals are exploring the island during Dublin Pride. Their visit aims to discover and share the diverse attractions and activities available to their readers, in addition to participating in the upcoming Dublin Pride Parade.
Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: “We were delighted to invite this group of US travel journalists and influencers to the island of Ireland, to experience this year’s Dublin Pride and see for themselves what we have to offer LGBTQIA+ visitors. The articles and content they create and share will inspire their readers and followers to visit in 2024 and beyond.”
The group’s bustling schedule featured a Lavender Walk Queer History Tour of Dublin led by activist and journalist Tonie Walsh. Their journey continued with visits to Killruddery House & Gardens, the Game of Thrones Studio Tour, Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, Titanic Belfast, and The Maverick for an Open Drag Stage. They also enjoyed a scenic tour along the Causeway Coastal Route and stopped in Belfast to meet with local playwright Dominic Montague for “Quartered: Belfast, A Love Story” — an outdoor audio theatre walking tour that delves into the city’s LGBTQI+ narratives. On June 29, the journalists and influencers are set to participate in the Dublin Pride Parade and experience the vibrant festivities.
