Welcome to NHL draft 2024 results and picks for the first round Friday night at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
There will be 32 picks in Round 1, beginning with the San Jose Sharks at No. 1 overall just after 7 p.m. ET (ESPN), with each team having three minutes to make a selection or trade. The first round should take just over three hours to complete, with the Detroit Red Wings expected to pick at 15th overall around 8:40 p.m.
The Utah Hockey Club takes over the former Arizona Coyotes franchise, and owns the sixth pick.
Day 2 begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, with Rounds 2-7. NHL free agency begins Monday.
