567K portable chargers sold at Costco recalled after two houses caught on fire

UNDATED (WKRC) – About 600,000 chargers exclusively sold at Costco were recalled after hundreds of safety issues were reported and two houses caught on fire.

The Michigan-based company myCharge recalled the 567,000 portable battery chargers after 120 reports of overheating and two residential fires resulting in approximately $165,000 in reported property damage, according to CPSC report.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled portable chargers, and contact myCharge for a free replacement portable charger,” said CPSC.

The models were sold from January 2022 through November 2023 for about $40.

There have been no reports of any injuries requiring medical attention.
