Rapper 50 Cent has shocked the internet after he shared a photo of himself with Lauren Boebert at the Capitol Building.
The musician—born Curtis Jackson III—visited Capitol Hill Wednesday to advocate for Black entrepreneurs and push for more representation in the alcohol industry. 50 Cent, who owns the liquor company Sire Spirits, was joined by civil rights attorney Ben Crump.
After his visit, he posted a picture of himself posing with the outspoken GOP representative, which quickly went viral.
Newsweek emailed spokespeople for 50 Cent and Boebert for comment Thursday.
“Lauren Boebert, Colorado Republican making the white house look good. [smirking emoji],” he captioned the photo of the two of them on X, formerly Twitter.
At the time of writing, the post had been viewed 3.2 million times, with many people using the opportunity to share their disapproval.
“@laurenboebert has been a embarrassment for her voters and she’s going to lose in the next election!” one person commented.
“You disappoint me Curtis. Got a taste of that MAGAt money, didn’t you? Sold out your principles. You’re now a member of traitors and terrorists. History will no longer remember you for your music. You’ll be remembered for this,” said another.
“This is why I don’t pay rappers any attention when it come to politics,” someone else wrote.
Not everyone was upset over the photo, as one person wrote: “This is what’s up [fire emoji].”
“Artist of the decade @50cent ! World class rapper, successful entrepreneur, author, and self-made multimillionaire @50cent is a national treasure,” someone else commented.
Another X user added: “Okay, re-followed [rolling on the floor laughing emoji].”
Boebert, a prominent Trump ally, gained a national spotlight in September 2023 after reports emerged that she and a date had been kicked out of a production of Beetlejuice: The Musical at downtown Denver’s Buell Theater due to their allegedly inappropriate behavior.
Despite the lawmaker’s initial denial of wrongdoing, security camera footage was later released showing Boebert vaping in the theater and fondling her date in a seemingly sexual manner. In the wake of the incident, numerous donors dropped their support, while others retracted their endorsements. Boebert later issued an apology.
After the backlash his photo received, 50 Cent took to X in an attempt to clear the air.
Uploading a photo of himself outside the Capitol Building, he wrote: “Wait, wait, guys i took pictures with everyone and all you seem to care about is Lauren [shrug emoji] what did she do in a dark theater that hasn’t been done, my God ! Hey I don’t have chlamydia by the way. LOL.”

The rapper is no stranger to involving himself in politics. On Monday he said the world is “almost over” after Donald Trump‘s campaign allegedly raised more than $200 million since he was found guilty of 34 felonies.
According to Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump, the campaign donations are comprised of over $70 million in small-donor fundraising. He attributed the information to his wife Lara Trump, who is the Republican National Committee (RNC) co-chair, during an appearance on the Fox News show Sunday Morning Futures.
Taking to X, 50 Cent shared a screenshot of an article with the headline “BREAKING: Trump campaign has received over $200 million in total donations since the guilty verdict in New York.”
“[The grinning squinting face emoji] SMH don’t worry the world’s almost over just enjoy the moment and be happy,” 50 Cent captioned the post. At the time of writing, it had been viewed 462,900 times.
