5 GOTY Winners Get 90%+ Discounts For Steam Summer Sale 2024

Steam users can currently grab Disco Elysium and four other winners of various Game of the Year awards at some absolutely massive discounts. The offers, which range from 90% to 95% off, are part of the ongoing Steam Summer Sale 2024.

The newest iteration of the annual promotion kicked off on June 27. This is the last of the six big sales that Steam announced for the first half of 2024.

And while hundreds of games saw their prices drop as part of the promo, some of the ongoing offers still seem a bit more head-turning than others. One particularly attractive wave of deals saw Steam slash down the prices of four GOTY winners by at least 90%. The list of these deeply discounted titles comprises Batman: Arkham Knight, Celeste, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. That cream of the crop is completed by Sid Meier’s Civilization 6, another GOTY winner that’s presently available at 90% off as part of the same promotion.

In terms of specific accolades, Sid Meier’s Civilization 6 and Celeste could be characterized as the least acclaimed of the lot, based on the fact that they “only” won genre-specific GOTY awards. Meanwhile, the rest of these deeply discounted titles have at least one general GOTY honor to their name. Disco Elysium and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are the most celebrated games of the newly discounted group, with both being widely touted as some of the best examples of their respective genres ever made. None of the GOTY deals on offer here include access to complete editions of their games, but those for Celeste and Disco Elysium: The Final Cut come close, as the only things sold separately from them are their official soundtracks and (in DE‘s case) artbook.

Steam Summer Sale 2024 also brought down the price of Baldur’s Gate 3 to its lowest yet. Specifically, the winner of dozens of 2023 GOTY awards is currently available at $47.99, or 20% off. Other critically acclaimed PC games that are currently up for grabs at immensely low prices include Borderlands 2, Arma 3, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, and Assetto Corsa.

A number of genre-defying RPGs have also been treated to some steep discounts as part of Steam Summer Sale 2024. That list includes Divinity: Original Sin 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and Mass Effect, among several other titles.
